Hallow sat in his large cave. The sun was setting. It was leaving and the night was beginning. The twilight hour was about the pure ones and all nightly creatures awakening. The large barn owl sat proudly atop of all the caves. His being the highest, he was the top dog. Night was almost cast throughout the land. "time to have some fun." The male owl churred.

He was plotting vile things-as usual. Tonight the pure ones were to start stealing chicks again. Last time the plan had failed. It had failed for alot of leaders here. Kludd, Nyra, so many others. Hallow pondered thinking about the old, old leaders. He was not going to fail though. He had a plan more complicated than the past leaders. He was to order the Pure Ones to raid a tree. Not any tree. A tree on a certain island. The great Ga'hoole Tree.

Vrack was flying around hoping to find something to do. everyone was doing fine. another boring day he thought as he started flying down.

he landed near Hollow's cave enterance and looked around once more. what shall I do? thats right. I dont think. I am a talon, nothing more.

he slowly flew in and tried to make sure Hollow noticed him. he landed near him, and quickly said "Sir! all troops are in order. what shall we do?"

The lithe barn owl whipped his head towards the other owl. His beak clicked as his ears took in the information. As the owl finished talking Hallow looked at him with slitted black eyes. The male seemed to have good form--and a good set of talons. He could lead a troop tonight.

"Since you took the time to inform me this time about the troops, unlike the sooty, you may have the privilage of leading a troop tonight. Take the grass owl troop towards ambala's west border. anychicks you see scoop them up. My troop will take the east side. When your troop can't carry anymore chicks come back here. hallow gave firm orders to the other bird. Hallow streched his wings gracefully and dipped out of his cave.

Vrack nodded and soon flew off. he was happy to know hollow trusted him.

after awhile, he gathered the grass owl troop together, and was soon off.
he liked ambala, with its rich green and wonderful little-
he suddenly cut the thought from his mind. he was on a mission, and he would not screw it up. they were flying south, and soon they would reach ambala, sweet ambala, with its green hills...

and with that, he flew on with his thoughts.
