Physical Description
Windfire is a slender, very pretty owl. Her facial disk is pure white. Her shoulders are tinted blueish brown. Her primaries are tawny-colored and barred with brown. She has a very light brown chest, speckled with darker brown. Her eyes are very large, like the night reflected in a still pool. At night, the stars are mirrored in her eyes, which unnerves owls-it looks like she has no eyes, but two holes straight through her head.
Personality
Windfire is a loner type. She keeps to herself, mostly. She has a few friends, but most owls consider her an eccentric. She loves the weather, and can be found flying almost any night. Rain, snow, sleet, hurricane, lightning, or tornado, she'll be out there. The only weather that can keep her inside the Great Tree is really big hail or a blizzard. She does NOT want to be plunged into the Sea of Hoolemere by snow on her wings, thank you very much, nor does she wish to have her head split open by hail the size of a chipmunk. She tries her best to share with her chaw her love of weather, but it's hard.
History
She has a prominent hatred of St. Aggies and the Pure Ones-she was a victim of both. She escaped St. Aggies, only to be captured by the Pure Ones in their stead. She was small for her age, and was about branching when St. Aggies got her. She taught herself to fly in a secluded corner, and made it out. When the Pure Ones came through, she was too exhausted to resist them. They, too, thought she was a hatchling, and tried to get her to their side. She fought them every step of the way. One day, all they went somewhere-she still doesn't know where-and she escaped them, too. She just made it to the Great Ga'Hoole tree, and nearly died of exhaustion. She was sorted into the very chaw she now heads, where she discovered her love of weather and flying.

K. I'll do when she escaped St. Aggies.
It was tween time, the time when owls started to wake and outlines blurred in the fading light of day. Not these owls, though. The owls of St. Aggies slept at night. If an owl wanted to, this would be the perfect time to slip away.
Windfire ruffled her feathers, staring up the forbidding walls of the canyon. This was it. This was the night when she'd escape these unnatural owls. She'd been secretly teaching herself to fly in a secluded corner of the Academy. The question was now... could she make it? It was the difference between life and death. She lifted off, and slipped away into the quickly fading light.
About a quarter of the way up, her wing muscles started protesting. This was the farthest she'd ever flown before. The light was fully gone now, and the first stars were emerging. "Hey! You there! What do you think you're doing!" The low hoot of a Great Horned Owl shattered the night--she'd been spotted. Obviously the guards were nocturnal like normal owls. She cursed herself for not thinking of it. She couldn't stop now-she kept going up.
Halfway. The Great Horned was gone-for reinforcements, or was he following her? She glanced down. There no one was there. No one ever looks up... She looked upwards, and there he was, talons bared, ready to spear her wings and send her plunging back to the canyon floor. She opened her beak and screeched, a wild call of defiance. He struck. She swerved left and he plunged past her. She didn't stop.
Three-quarters there. Was he gone for good this time? She looked down again, and saw not just him, but Skum, the Ablah General, and three other owls. All of them had battle claws on. Her luck- the claws would slow them down. She flapped her wings harder. Despite the battle claws, they were gaining on her. Could she make it? Her wings were killing her. One-a Great Gray-dashed upward and tried to kill her. He missed, but his claws scored a gash down her chest. The blood got in his eyes. Down he went. A sickening crack echoed up the canyon. She smiled grimly. Never attack from below-a lesson he'd learned too late.
She was out! There were still four owls chasing her. She slipped under a bush-no owl would hide on the ground, so no one would search for her there. The relief to her wings was immense. She sighed gratefully. The bush was thick enough to hide her. The sun was poking its head above the horizon. She fell asleep normally for the first time in months.
Picture
Yeah. The shadows are really weird in this picture... Her face is really white.
